Evolution at it's saddest

This is one of those horrible instances of mutual ancestry where one branch of the familial tree evolves into graceful and elegant greyhounds, and they other branch evolves into pudgy, groundhole-dwelling corgies. Or we can extrapolate according to the principles of "Intelligent Design", where the obvious conclusion is that an intelligent, aesthetically-skilled God hates some of us.
